What to expect -
You will be asked to arrive at 8:15 pm although special arrangements can be made for shift-workers or patients who always go to bed late.
You can now download and print the "New Sleep Patient Packet" This has patient forms and detailed information about what to expect. Bring this back with you the night of your study.
Your sleep technician will attach small electrodes to your skin and scalp, held in place by removable paste and tape. This may take up to an hour. You will then be able to walk around, read, and relax until bedtime.
Your sleep technician will be awake and available to you all night. A physician is always on-call should he need to be reached. Typical bedtime is about 11pm and rise time is usually between 6am-7am.
During the night, you will sleep as you normally do. Our sleep rooms are similar to your own bedroom and you will have a TV in your room. You will be offered a light snack in the evening, and coffee in the morning.
